For those who wish to self-cater, accommodation is available at Chalet Guingois.  Completely refurbished in the past couple of years, the chalet comfortably sleeps 8/9 and offers modern facilities within a traditional Savoyard building.  Situated next-door-but-one to Chalet Richebourg, in the charming and unspoilt alpine village of Le Biot. We would be available to help you with any aspect of your holiday.
The accommodation is arranged as follows:

Ground floor • Spacious entrance hall/boot room leads into: • Kitchen with large dining table.  Equipped with fridge, hob, oven, microwave, slow cooker, toaster and kettle. • Large room, sleeps 4, with room to spare. • Shower room with washbasin • WC with hand-basin

Upstairs to: • Open plan sitting room with Flat-screen DVD. • Bathroom with shower and WC • Large double bedroom • Bedroom area with single sofa bed for occasional use. Mezzanine: • Galleried area and bedroom with king-size bed Outside • Large garden • Lockable bicycle store

The chalet is heated via electric radiators and hot water is available.  No smoking is allowed inside the property, however guests are welcome to smoke outside.  Please note that the property is unsuitable for children under about 5 years, because of a steep staircase between the ground and first floor.  Unfortunately, the chalet is presently accessed via a flight of steps and therefore, would be unsuitable for wheelchair users.

Winter Ski The Portes du Soleil region is the largest interconnected ski area in the world and has 628kms of piste, 288 marked slopes, 209 ski lifts and covers 8 French ski resorts and 6 Swiss resorts! The chalet is ideally placed to provide swift access to a number of Portes du Soleil ski stations. Any one resort will provide extensive skiing, however, the linked Portes du Soleil network provides limitless options. You could start in France, have lunch in Switzerland and return to the start without ever having to ski the same run twice! The neighbouring ski regions of the Grand Massif; Samöens, Flaine & Le Carroz are 40 minutes by car and Megeve and Chamonix are approximately 90 minutes.

Summer activities The spectacular Ponts du Diable (Devil’s Gorge), is only 2 kilometres from the chalet. Lake Geneva and the spa-towns of Thonon-les-Bains and Evian-les-Bains are approx. 20 kilometres away. There is a supermarket with petrol/carwash facility 6 kilometres away from the chalet, which is more than adequate for a weekly shop.  Additionally, a larger hypermarket is available, about 24 kilometres distant.  The village of le Biot, which is within walking distance of the chalet, has a restaurant/bar, bakery, post office and tennis courts.  It also has a ski-hire shop.  The village of St. Jean D'Aulps is approx. 5 kilometres away and boasts one of the finest restaurants in the valley! The town of Morzine has a sports centre, tennis courts and banking facilities.
